Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC) has upgrades regulations for low-power radio frequency equipment

The National Communication Commission of Taiwan (NCC) has revised its “Regulation on Low Power Radio Frequency Equipment” following a public consultation in December 2023.

This upgrade now makes it feasible to approve low-power 5.945 GHz to 6.425 GHz frequency band for low-power wireless information transmission equipment (U-NII).

To obtain approval for devices operating within specific frequency ranges, manufacturers must now undergo testing locally in Taiwan.

The testing procedures are based on the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) standard EN 303 687.
