The Department of Consumer Affairs has recently released a gazette notification dated 21st June which announces the relaxation in BIS govt fees for micro, small and medium enterprises under Scheme II & Scheme IV of schedule II.
As per the notification, From June 1st 2023, 80% of govt fee has been reduced for micro enterprises and 20% of the fee has been reduced for small & Medium enterprises. However, from June 1st 2026, 20% of the fee will be reduced for micro, small & medium enterprises.
The intent of reducing govt fee is to boost the local manufacturing and make in India initiative.
