Mexico cancels import licences and restores normal approval processes.

The following decisions were published by the General Directorate of Commercial Facilitation and Foreign Trade (DGFCCE) and the General Directorate of Standards (DGN); however, they were revoked by the Ministry of Economy (SE) on May 25, 2023 (DGN.191.01.2023.1221 / DGFCCE.516.2023.1345):

Folio 414.2020.827- With the use of an EC-provided folio number, applications must be filed to a Certification Body (OC) or Verification Unit in order for items to be imported after March 27, 2020.

Folio 414.2020.963- this permit allowed products imported after March 27, 2020, if applications were submitted to a Testing Laboratory using a provided folio number by the Laboratory.

As per the measures taken, from August 23, 2023, the licences that are now listed in the Aduana-Normas system will expire.

As a result, permit applications must be submitted to the Conformity Assessment Bodies by July 6, 2023, 30 business days after the official notice publication. The import permits that have been properly registered on the appropriate official portal will end on August 23, 2023, after this date.
