Argentina to open the entire 6GHz band

The 6GHz band in the 5,925-7,125MHz region has been totally made available for Wi-Fi 6 usage by Argentina’s telecoms regulator, Enacom.

The regulator debated utilising just the lower part at first, but ultimately chose to give Wi-Fi 6 the complete 1,200MHz.

Some of the characteristics are as follows:

The maximum Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) and maximum EIRP spectral density for Access Points (AP) and Subordinate Devices (SD) are 30 dBm and 5 dBm, respectively.

Client Devices (CD): A maximum EIRP of 24 dBm and a maximum EIRP spectral density of -1 dBm/MHz are permitted for CD devices.

Devices must adhere to an EIRP of -27 dBm/MHz when it comes to out-of-band emissions.

Wi-Fi device activity inside the 6 GHz band is restricted inside of all types of transportation, including automobiles, trains, boats, and aeroplanes. When an aircraft is flying at altitudes more than 10,000 feet, this equipment will be permitted to function.

The Effective Date as of May 24th, 2023, the 6 GHz band has been designated for Wi-Fi operation.

Wi-Fi marketing is crucial for bringing all citizens together and accelerating the development of gaming, augmented and virtual reality, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Metaverse technologies. The decision would accelerate the digitalisation and development of industries and manufacturing processes while creating more employment and assisting the nation in realising its great potential for productivity.
