Ministry of heavy industry have recently released Electrical Equipment (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023 for low switch gear components as notified in scheme II of schedule II as per the old quality control order 2020.
i) It has been clarified that the notified products categories are now fall under scheme X of BIS. The said products are no more in compulsory registration order.
ii) In newly released order, the subcategories of Electrical Equipment Good” Low – Voltage switchgear and control gear: Circuit – Breakers” has been updated.
iii) Each product category has its own implementation date mentioned in the table in official order.
iv) The series guidelines of notified products will be released by BIS as soon as finalized by competent authority.
